*Under Construction*

At the completion of my first semester of Rider's Graduate Level Teacher Certification program, I reflected on how to proceed with my own professional development. I decided that it was essential to engage in daily practice similar to the the routines of my early academic career as a music education major. Later on, I'll write more about why the sort of daily practice of musicians is important in linking process to product in an engaging inquiry process.

Though I immediately hit upon the the idea of reading 1-2 lesson plans per week, it's taken me over a month to truly crack open my task stream account and start perusing lessons submitted by teachers. This is mainly due to the daunting prospect of knowing how to analyze the plans and connect them to educational theories that I am just starting to learn about. I'm more than a bit nervous about opening up my potential mistakes to others, but the idea of creating a place for a supportive learning community to add input outweighs my trepidation.

I'm going to start out slowly, with the assumption that everything on these pages is a baby step towards a continuous work in progress. Posting one lesson each week and re-reading it on a daily basic, I hope to post comments that directly connect to the practices that I'm learning about in my graduate courses. As I become more familiar with the format, I hope to open the wiki to more members of the educational community so that they can add their expertise to this online dialogue.
